[message]‘Thief’ is a light and upbeat piece in three sections, highly melodic and rhythmic. It has a strong feeling of forward movement and momentum. It owes something to ragtime and to choro, but also has a narrative feel, visual and cinematic. The piece starts in E major, modulates to A major, modulates again to a ‘slow drag’ section in G major, and returns to its lively first theme at the end.
This is a demanding piece technically and would suit more advanced players.
