Collection: McCrossan, Kieran

Kieran McCrossan is a Scottish classical guitarist originally from Kirkcaldy, Fife, now based in Edinburgh. In 2023, he completed his BMus(Hons) at Edinburgh Napier University, where he studied with Scottish virtuoso classical guitarist and composer Simon Thacker.

With a major interest in contemporary music, McCrossan is committed to playing and promoting the works of contemporary composers which saw a successful solo concert series at the beginning of 2024 showcasing Scottish composers Brandon Walker, Edward McGuire, Kenneth Dempster and Stephen James Hamilton. This included premieres of two works written for him by Walker and Dempster.

Equally committed to chamber music, McCrossan plays alongside flautist Lynn Fraser as part of their Bruadar Duo, which will premiere further Scottish works this summer (2024).

McCrossan will begin further studies as part of the Master's programme at Edinburgh Napier University this September 2024.
