Mike Readon

Mike Reardon is a guitarist currently living in the Indianapolis area who focuses mainly on performing, teaching, composing and arranging. He has been playing music since the age of 8 and studied with Ernesto Bitetti, Dave Stryker and Sergio Assad at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington.

In 2019 and 2020 he went to the Dominican Republic and Haiti to help teach along with other teachers and professors from Indiana University. He has recorded two CD's "Modern Music for Guitar" and "Trio" which are available now online.

In 2020 Michael was named as a finalist in The Wilson Center International Guitar Competition in 2020 and in 2022 placed 1st in The Charleston International Music Competition, The Bach International Music Competition and The Golden Classical Music Awards. Michael's compositions have premiered at the Boston Guitarfest and the Northwest Guitar Festival.

Michael has performed at many historic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Auer Hall at Indiana University, Brown Hall at The New England Conservatory of Music, The House of Blues in Cleveland, The Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh, The Buskirk Chumley, The Chatterbox Jazz Club and many more.

Mike has also collaborated with or shared the stage with many talented musicians such as Rick Ward and Billy Beck from the Ohio Players, Teddy Pantelas, Petar Jankovic, Daniel Duarte, Patrick Zimmerli, Jeff Hamilton, Tamir Hendelman, Michael Spiro, Wayne Wallace, Rachel Caswell and has opened for nationally acclaimed artists such as Rik Emmett.

When he is not working Mike is an avid reader, runner and podcast listener.
