Collection: Hartl, Bence
Bence Hartl from Budapest, Hungary, is a guitarist and composer specialising in contemporary classical music. He composes for many instruments, including orchestra, piano and clarinet, as well as guitar ensemble. His works, which include theatre music as well as concert pieces, have been well-received in prestigious competitions. He plays in solo and ensemble concerts, including a duo with clarinettist Csenge Hartl-Solymosi.
Hartl’s own compositions are mainly in a modernist atonal idiom. However, he also arranges music for guitar and other instruments. Bergmann Edition offers a beautiful arrangement of Satie’s haunting Gnossiennes, in which the spare harmonic accompaniment is taken by the guitar and the melody can be played with either flute or clarinet.
