Guy Woodcock

Born in Israel, Guy Woodcock is a guitarist and guitar teacher living in Berlin. Guy is currently performing with a variety of chamber music ensembles as well as being an active soloist. In Duo Shiluv with cellist Clara Franz. Guy and Clara are combining contemporary music and other epochs to create audience-engaging programs.

With guitarist Victor Santana Guy arranged and published Schubert’s “Die schöne Müllerin” for two guitars and voice and a recording of which is in the works.

Guy also has a standing collaboration with guitarist Josep López and is a member of the “Jarok” and “Die Goldvögel” ensembles.

Guy’s solo recital programs “The guitar of the baroque” and “Goya’s Spain” can currently be heard in and around Berlin.

In September 2023 Guy received the first prise at the 1. international competition “Ferdinand Rebay” in the category solo guitar. Guy has won second place in Israel’s national guitar competition at the academy of music and dance, Jerusalem, and received the America-Israel cultural fund’s scholarship for 4 years.

Since Moving to berlin in 2013 Guy has been performing regularly in, among others, the LMN foundation, Musethica Berlin and the Berlin Guitar Festival. Guy finished his Bachelor’s degree in July 2018 at the “Hanns Eisler” HfM with professor Eugenia Kanthou.

From January to July 2020 Guy took a semester abroad at the ESMUC in Barcelona, with Prof. Laura Young as his teacher. Guy graduated from the Master’s program in preforming at the UdK Berlin with professor Thomas Müller-Pering in July 2021 with the highest grade. Since January 2021 Guy is a faculty member at the public music school of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

Guy currently plays an Amalio Burguet cedar top AB-001 2016 and an Andreas Kirmse 2015 double top. last updated July 2025
