Kacha Metreveli was born in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, in the Caucasus region of Eurasia in 1969. He learned to play the guitar at Tbilisi professional music school, giving his first solo concert as early as 12 years old. A large number of musical performances followed, especially in Georgia and Russia.
In 1986 he started teaching at Tbilisi professional music school, making his debut on Georgian radio and TV in 1992.
In 1995 he took the final examination as a director and producer at Tbilisi theatre academy. Then Metreveli attended the college of music (Musikhochschule) in the German city of Münster, taking the diploma examination as a concert guitarist and pedagogue with Wolfgang Weigel and professor Reinbert Evers.
His development as an artist is not least due to his having attended many master classes held by famous guitarists like Eliot Fisk, Costas Cotsiolis, Wulfin Liske, Shin-ichi Fucuda and others.
At the age of 20, Kacha Metreveli began composing and arranging pieces for guitar. Apart from giving concerts and teaching, Metreveli has for several years now concerned himself with adding to the literature available for guitar players of all ages.
