Destremau

Loïc Destremau (born 1992) was born and raised on the island of Zealand, Denmark, with his French-Danish family. He began his musical education in 2007 studying at the Zealand Church Music School, and graduated as an organist in 2011. While studying he also attended chamber music and private composition lessons under Svend Aaquist .  In 2012 he entered the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus (DK) in the composition department, finishing his undergraduate studies in Summer 2015. He went on to post-graduate composition studies in Conservatorio di Bari "Niccolò Piccinni" and at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus.

Destremau’s works reflect the breadth and variety of his interests and his natural curiosity.  He explores different compositional techniques, structures, concepts and musical media-platforms.  As a composer, he says he does not seek to belong to any specific genre, or to create one; he lays no claim to a particular style, but continues to try out new ways of making music and musical acts.

Destremau’s works published by Bergmann Edition are contemporary and experimental.
