Collection: Elliott, John
John Elliott is from York, UK and taught himself to play the guitar from the age of ten whilst captivated by recordings of Bream and Williams.
“I knew I could never afford a guitar education or a decent guitar but I had a few early ambitions to meet Segovia and to play the guitar in the Alhambra Palace in Granada and also in York Minster, all of which I was fortunate to achieve."
Regarding his compositions, John writes: “As Mozart once said, music is not in the notes, but in the silence between. I write a lot of silence. My pieces reflect my own experiences but I hope others find encouragement to discover things for themselves whether through playing or listening. If I can provide that in my own simple way, then I’m happy”.
John now plays an Auditorio Trio Guitar by Ramirez.
