Axel Krogness

Axel Krogness is a Swedish classical guitarist, currently working as a guitar performer, composer and teacher. Axel has a master's degree in classical guitar performance from the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied with Gary Ryan, Chris Stell, Carlos Bonell and Jakob Lindberg.
Previously, Axel studied classical guitar performance for Göran Söllscher, Gunnar Spjuth and David Hansson at the Malmö Academy of Music. An Erasmus exchange allowed Axel to study classical guitar for one semester in Córdoba, Spain, at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Córdoba.
Axel has performed extensively throughout Europe, including concerts in Copenhagen, London, Manchester, Malmö, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Córdoba. During the last few years, Axel has participated in masterclasses with renowned classical guitarists, including Marcin Dylla, Zoran Dukic, Alvaro Pierri, John Mills, Laura Snowden and Mats Bergström.
As a composer, Axel has written works for the classical guitar, guitar and tenor, guitar and orchestra, harp, and string quartet. He also regularly performs his own compositions in his guitar recitals.
Axel has released two albums with his compositions.
His studies were supported by the Helge Ax:son Johnson Foundation, Makarna Lindeqvists Donation, Rune Ljungdahls Foundation, Crafoordska Foundation, Therese Kamphs Foundation, Stallfåglarnas Foundation, Thora Ohlssons Foundation and Kempe-Carlgrenska Foundation.
Axel performs on a spruce guitar made by Stephen Hill and a cedar guitar build by Antonio Bernal. His equipment includes the Abel Armrest, Savarez strings and a Bam case.
