Gaetano Troccoli studied guitar under Maurizio Preda and graduated from the Conservatorium “G. Verdi” in Milan. He also has a degree in Paleography and Music Philology from the University of Pavia. A Professor of Music Education of many years’ standing, he started teaching classical guitar in 1994 at the Music Institute “F. Vittadini” in Pavia. Since 1997 he also teaches at the music high school
“A. Cairoli
” in Pavia. He gives many concerts, both as a soloist and as a member of a number of chamber music ensembles. With the guitar sextet Concordia Chordis, he recorded the CDs “Live in Varese”; “Six Christmas Strings”; “Tacaa sul mur”; and “Modest Moussorgsky - Pictures at an exhibition” (in an arrangement for guitar trio). He has composed vocal pieces; compositions for solo guitar; and pieces for a variety of ensembles (among which are a Concerto and a Fantasia for guitar and orchestra). Many of his works have been published in Italy, Belgium, France, and Germany.
