Redi Marku was born on November 10th 1977 in Pogradec, Albania. At the age of 15, he began to take lessons in classical guitar and music theory. In 1998 he moved to Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he continued to study classical guitar at the “Gheorghe Dima” Academy of Music. In 2005 he successfully finished with a master degree in classical guitar. During his years at school, he created, played and participated in many concerts organised by the Academy. In 2006 he moved to Tirana to accept a position as a professor teaching classical guitar in Lyceum of Tirana, the most significant music school in Albania. In 2007 he became a professor at the University of Arts in Tirana where he worked for four years. Redi Marku has composed several new pieces for the classical guitar, and he has arranged a lot of music for the instrument as well.
