Valery Skobelkin
Valeriy Skobelkin (born 1969) is a contemporary composer, born and raised in Ufa, where he received his compositional education (Ufa State Institute of Arts, Department of Composition, class of People's Artist of the USSR Professor Z. G.
Ismagilov). After graduating, he continued to work professionally. In 1996, he won the Edvard Grieg International Competition for Composers in Oslo (Norway). Honoured Artist, member of the Union of Composers of the Republic of Bashkortostan and
Russia. He is the author of many original compositions in various genres, forms,
arrangements, and treatments of folk and popular themes for different instrumental pieces.
