Guitarist and composer
Pablo Montagne, impelled by an inexhaustible spirit for research, has been dedicated to the practices of improvisation and composition for many years, confronting the multiple aspects related to solistic and group performance with a very personal approach. As an improviser, composer and performer, he’s worked with: Michael Riessler, Gianni Lenoci, Joëlle Léandre, Maurizio Grandinetti, Kaija Saariaho, Massimo Felici, David Lang, Michelangelo Lupone, Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli, Evan Parker, Nando di Modugno, Adolfo La Volpe, Quadrivium percussione Ricerca, CRM (roma), Rai Cinema, Enrico Melozzi, Daniele Di Bonaventura, Beñat Achiary, Ensemble Barrio de Tango, Clint Lutes.
Alongside his concert activities, he has also held musical workshops and has been teaching in the conservatories of Monopoli "N.Rota", Bari "N.Piccinni", Lecce "Tito Schipa" "G.Lettimi" Rimini. He graduated with top marks in classical guitar at the "A. Casella" Conservatoire in L'Aquila. Following this, he studied with Massimo Felici and Maurizio Grandinetti at the "N.Rota" Conservatoire of Monopoli, receiving a Master degree in guitar solo performance with honours. At the same time, he has also studied improvisation with Gianni Lenoci obtaining the Diploma in "Jazz Music" with honours.
Several labels such as Evil Rabbit, Amirani, Aut, Setola di Maiale, Dodicilune, Sinfonica have published his works as duo, ensemble and solo artist. His discographic projects have been received with great interest, obtaining enthusiastic reviews from critics, from Italian and international music magazines specialised in this sector, such as "The Wire", "Freistil", "Cadence", "Blow up", "Chitarre e Dintorni". His scores are published by Edizioni Glissato (Nuovi Linguaggi) and Edizioni Sinfonica.
