Sanel SabitovicSanel Sabitovic (born 1972,Mostar, Bosnia-Hercegovina) started guitar lessons at the age of 7 and continued in the primary music school in Konjic.  Later, he studied under Mile Rakanovic in Sarajevo. Until the beginning of the war in Bosnia, he lived in the small central-Bosnian town of Prozor; but in 1992 he left Bosnia for Berlin, Germany.  There he furthered his classical guitar studies under Erich Heuer and Laurie Randolph, followed by a degree at the University of Arts in Berlin under the tutelage of Mariangeles Sanchez Benimeli. He then went on to specialize still further, under the direction of eminent guitar educator Carlo Marchione.

Sabitovic gives frequent concerts and recitals. His repertoire includes traditional classical music as well as more contemporary guitar music.   He plays and composes music far beyond the boundaries of the straightforward classical idiom, as evidenced by his duet “Bordun” with the renowned Turkish saz player Kemal Dinc, and his composition "Bosnian fantasy" (published by Bergmann Edition).
