Philip Trumble studied guitar, piano and composition for film and TV at the Guildhall School of Music in London before studying at Cambridge and London Universities and following a successful career in music and arts education. As well as playing guitar and piano he also plays the organ and was an early exponent of music technology in UK schools. His creative output is very diverse and has included music for theatre as well as both secular and religious songs. His guitar compositions are influenced by the music, people and places of the West Highlands of Scotland and often use alternative tunings like DADGAD. He has performed at a range of prestigious venues in the UK including the Royal Albert Hall and his compositions are broadcast on the radio. He likes to make music that is accessible, and he has championed the power of music and the arts to change lives, especially for disadvantaged people.
