Antonino Maddonni
Guitarist, composer and arranger; his guitar preparation follows the Segovian trail with the school of Ermelinda Calsolaro at the Piccinni Conservatory of Bari, Italy. He perfects his studies with great masters of the international scene such as A. Diaz, O.Ghiglia and R.Chiesa at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and at the Artis Master Class of Verona, Faenza, Otranto, Bari etc. where he obtained scholarships and merit mentions and deepened his studies in the compositional techniques of the 1900s with the composer A. Giacometti.
Winner of numerous first prizes in national and international guitar and chamber competitions, in 1987 he founded the Trio Mauro Giuliani (flute, clarinet, guitar) with which he carried out most of his international concert and creative career and with which he published several CD recordings. He has published with the record labels Fonit Cetra, Bongiovanni, Rugginenti, Phoenix Classic, Warner-Fonit, Terre Sommerse, Lieto Colle, Digression Music.
He has gained experience ranging from classical to contemporary repertoire, from multimedia experimentalism to improvisation. In the field of multimedia he has experienced chamber music theater and performances related to painting, image, poetry and other languages, participating in International Festivals (Time Zones - Bari’97 , Contemporary Music Festival of Coretto - Bari 1994, Babilon Festival ’97(Iraq), Festival del Mediterraneo, Italy '98, 2000 etc.).
Antonino Maddonni has held concerts throughout Italy and tours abroad for important musical institutions: Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Giordano in Foggia, Ventidio Basso Theater in Ascoli Piceno, Piccinni Theater in Bari, Auditorium Nacional de Madrid, India International Center (New Delhi) , National Center of Performing Arts (Bombay), Complexe Culturelle Sidi Belyout (Casablanca), Palais des Istitutiones Italiennes (Tangier), Arsh All Theater (Bagdad), Paris, Théatre Charles Dullin (Chambery-France), Acropolium (Carthage-Tunisia), Athens (Greece), Rio De Janeiro , Buenos Aires, Malta, Cairo-Alessandria (Egypt), Rabat (Maroc), Izmir- Antalya - Samsun (Turkey).
He is the author of music for guitar, chamber music, computer music and didactic works. His music has been broadcast by RAI 2, RAI 3, Vatican Radio, Radio Nacional Espanola, Iraq State Television and other foreign state radio-television stations and played by numerous international groups.
He is professor of guitar at the "N.Rota" Conservatory of Monopoli (BA) and holds masterclasses in Italy and abroad with the Erasmus programs.
