Mickael Luis is a Swiss-Portuguese guitarist and composer. He started his guitar studies with Alexandre Rodrigues at the Conservatoire Populaire de Genève, then began his professional studies and obtained his Bachelor's degree by taking Dagoberto Linhares' class at the Haute école de musique de Lausanne (HEMU). He continued his studies in the Netherlands by obtaining a Master's degree in the class of Johan Fostier (Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts).
During his years of study, he had the opportunity to take masterclasses with several international guitarists and pedagogues such as Alvaro Pierri, Susanne Mebes, Joaquim Freire, Ricardo Gallén, Gaelle Solal, Rémy Jousselme, Marcin Dylla, Lorenzo Micheli, George Vassilev, Dusan Bogdanovic, Marco Socias and Luigi Attademo. During his Bachelor's degree, he took piano and composition lessons with Enrico Camponovo. Since then, he has been actively composing for all types of instruments (with an emphasis on composition for guitar and piano solo). Some compositions have been written and inspired by pictorial art, contemporary dance, tap dance, based on the sense of smell or illustrated books for children.
Between 2019 and 2021, he won several prizes in international composition and classical guitar competitions in Greece, Germany, Georgia, Belarus, Russia and the United States.
