Nikos Mourgis is a guitarist and composer from Athens, Greece. In 2001, he received a diploma in classical guitar performance with Professor Kostas Kotsiolis as his teacher, and in 2021, a composition diploma from the Municipal Conservatory of Piraeus. In 1999, he was awarded the first prize in the soloist guitar competition of the 22nd International Guitar Festival of Volos, Greece, while at the same time, he participated in the 9th international competition of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) and the 6th international guitar competition of Sinaia (Romania). He has appeared as a soloist and member of musical groups in Greece and abroad.
Nikos Mourgis' Compositions have been presented at the Athens Concert Hall and other Greek cities. He has written works for large orchestras and string orchestras, choral works for mixed choirs, duets for piano and cello, flute and guitar, trombone and guitar, and wind trios for oboe, bassoon, and French horn. He has also written electronic music for various applications, such as theatre performances, short films, and installations. He also edits arrangements for one and two guitars from different music and instruments.
