About Us
Bergmann Edition, based in Aarhus, Denmark, is Europe’s leading publisher of new and rare music for classical guitar. Founded in 2015 by Allan Bergmann Jensen, the Bergmann imprint now represents over 80 contemporary composers working in all genres from experimental avant-garde to traditionally melodic and tonal. We publish some of the guitar world’s greatest living composers, arrangers and players, in high quality beautifully engraved editions. We also publish a selective range of teaching literature.
Our catalogue includes hundreds of works for solo classical guitar: the majority of them are new compositions, but we also publish new arrangements of historic music, from medieval to twentieth-century. In addition, we bring you pieces composed or arranged for various sizes of guitar ensemble, for rare combinations of classical guitar with other instruments, and for guitar with voice, chamber orchestra or full orchestra.
In addition to our contemporary guitar composers, we are home to the Ferdinand Rebay Project, publishing some 300 compositions (all with a guitar part) by the Austrian composer. His fascinating melodic output spans the late romantic period and the first half of the twentieth century (b.1880, d.1953).
Our elegant printed scores can be found in numerous European retail outlets, libraries and guitar festivals; and we pride ourselves on the quality of our online offering. All our scores are available for sale as print-on-demand copies or signed PDF downloads.
Under Danish law, Bergmann Edition is constituted as an “Association for publishing music for the guitar”. The association is non-profit, and all profit goes to promote the publication of new music and to support guitar events around the world.
