I studied Guitar, Piano and Composition at Clarendon College, (Nottingham, UK) before embarking on a career performing, composing and teaching guitar.
My interest in Spanish music, culture and particularly flamenco led me to study with Paco Pena in Cordoba and Juan Martin in London. I have performed solo guitar in the UK and abroad, played in a duo with my wife Trisha, who is an accomplished classical guitarist and also had the opportunity to accompany flamenco dancers and singers in Andalucia, immersing myself into the Spanish way of life.
The sounds and rhythms of Spain are evident in many of my compositions as I often use Andalusian tonalities, modes and motifs.
My piece 'Isla Clementina' was featured in a 'Distant Shores' episode about Menorca, on the Travel Channel.
I live near Falmouth in the South West of England, where I now concentrate on composing new music for guitar, utilising the many musical ideas that I have accumulated on my travels.
