The Austrian guitarist and composer Florian Palier grew up in a family of musicians and has been exposed to music and the arts since early childhood. He first studied with his father Johann Palier, later with Marco Diaz Tamayo and finally with Álvaro Pierri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from where he graduated with distinction.
Paliers main activity is the field of classical guitar. However, he also has many years of experience as a jazz musician, has collaborated with artists from the electronic music scene, and is familiar with the historical performance practice. In his compositions, he brings this different musical worlds together. Johann Sebastian Bach, Toru Takemitsu and Frank Zappa inspire his compositional style.
Palier is the winner of numerous competitions in Austria and abroad. His awards include 1st prizes at international competitions in Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy and the Netherlands. His latest CD Castillos de España received top reviews. Concerts, radio and TV recordings have taken him across Europe, the US, Taiwan and Japan.
He is teaching the guitar at the Conservatory of Graz and master classes at various festivals and universities around the world
