Michael Itle
Michael Itle was born in Loretto, Pennsylvania in 1972. Around 15 years old, he began playing steel string guitar with an early interest in blues, rock, and folk music. Later, he acquired a nylon string instrument and started teaching himself classical guitar from an instructional series of books by Frederick M. Noad. His serious studies in classical guitar began in 1990 with instructor Marcia L. Englar, Professor of Guitar at the Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed academic coursework in music theory and performance.
Through his academic studies, he developed a special interest and passion for music of the renaissance, baroque, and classical eras. In his compositions, Michael will often experiment with the musical forms and techniques characteristic of those periods.
Michael has devoted a lifetime to the study of composition for the solo guitar and has composed and arranged several works of varying difficulty for the instrument over the years.
