Collection: Henriques, Fini
Valdemar Fini Henriques (1867 - 1940) was a Danish composer and violinist. As a youth he was advised by composer Niels Wilhelm Gade to pursue studies at the Conservatory of Music. He studied as a private student with the violinist Valdemar Tofte, concert master of the chapel and professor at the Conservatory; and with Johan Svendsen, the principal director of the Royal Chapel. From 1888 to 1891 he lived in Berlin, where he studied under the renowned violinist Joseph Joachim and the composer Woldemar Bargiel (half brother to Clara Schumann, and himself a student of Gade).
Bergmann Edition brings you three delightful pieces by Henriques in the late Romantic idiom, in excellent violin and guitar arrangements by Finn Elias Svit.
