Saverio Santoni born in Jesi (Italy) in 1990, he graduated in Organ at the Conservatoire of Pesaro. He then studied Composition at the Conservatoires of Pesaro and Rome, graduating “cum laude”.
He attended composition masterclasses with Ivan Fedele (2017), Daniele Bravi (2018, 2019), Salvatore Sciarrino (2019), Stefano Taglietti (2020, 2021). He is co-author of a didactic book (“Dalla letteratura alla musica”, with Monica Manni) published by Pearson, Italy, in 2020.
He won the 1st prize at the International “A. Dvorak” Composition Competition (Prague, 2013 and 2014). In 2015, two of his works (an orchestral piece and a transcription) were commissioned and performed by FORM – Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. In the same year, two of his harpsichord compositions were selected as mandatory pieces at the 15th “Gianni Gambi Harpsichord Competition” in Pesaro.
In 2016 an orchestral suite, commissioned by the Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo (Egypt), was performed in Cairo Opera House. In 2018 a chamber piece for trio (cello – clarinet – accordion) was commissioned and performed at the XVIII Pergolesi Spontini Festival. Other pieces have been performed by Praga Sinfonietta Orchestra, Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, KLK Symphony Orchestra, Quartetto Sincronie and by the soloists Michele Marco Rossi, Keiko Murakami, and Edward Cohen.
