From āOnce Around the Sunā for solo guitar
My Guitar Chantā style was developed from 1993 through to my 2 Persian Pieces ofĀ 2009-10. It features in other works occasionally, including my guitar concerto.
Compositions in this style draw from stylisms of established genres such as PersianĀ Dastgah and Hindustani Raga instrumental and vocal techniques and ornaments, but alsoĀ from Western chant like Gregorian pieces and, of course, Flamenco.
The idea was to use the voice of the guitar in a particular approach to elements and ideasĀ from these musics, accomplishing this with strong guitaristic idioms.
