[title]
[message]A piece for solo guitar. To our ancestors whose voices reside within us.
The opening of this piece has a flowing rhythmic figure in the basses, and its shifting time signatures draw the listener into the dramatic melody that floats across its surface. The melodic line weaves in more and more complex and rapidly cycling patterns as the piece progresses. Abruptly, the rhythmic pattern pauses at its halfway point, and a plangent, slow expressive melody emerges. It builds in complexity and speed, leading to a return to the opening subject. This is a highly demanding concert piece for advanced players.
