There is a folkloric feel to the opening of this lyrical piece.  It is a highly expressive composition that becomes more rhapsodic as it progresses and builds in intensity using changes in time signature, increasingly fast runs and arpeggios, and the introduction of an insistent repeated rhythmic accompanying figure that drives it forwards. Finally, and satisfyingly, it slows to peaceful, harmonious ending.
