Templares by Daniela Nasti
For solo guitar.
Templares is in a contemporary style and is a rather demanding concert piece. Its duration is 8 Minutes.
The title reflects the inspiration behind the work: the mythical world of the medieval Knights Templar, with its mysteries and legends, evoked through a musical symbolism that reflects the Templars’ own.
The formal structure is predominantly ternary (ABA Coda), reflecting the three classic vows of monastic orders—Poverty, Obedience, and Chastity. Its thematic elements rely on two contrasting motifs. One has a forceful dotted rhythm, reflecting the martial nature of the Templars. The other, based on scale sequences, represents their more mystical and contemplative side. These motifs are continuously transforming - they blend, alternate, and fragment - allowing a perfect balance in the use of techniques such as variation, repetition, and contrast.
