[message] Quartetto by Giuseppe Toti (Giuseppe di Foiano Totti ca.1750 - 1832/33)
Arranged for two mandolins, mandola, and guitar by Reidar Edvardsen.
The present work is based on a Quartetto for two mandolins and two guitars. Adding to its playing duration and expressive range, the “Duettino”, originally for two sopranos and guitar, has been inserted as a slow movement. In the two original Quartetto movements, the mandola part has been converted from the original first guitar part with only minor alterations. Discreet use of tremolo is suggested in the score. The original guitar parts indicate a five-course instrument, and a few notes have been lowered to the 6th string in this edition.
