[message]Johann Kaspar Mertz (Hungarian: János Gáspár Mertz, 1806 - October 14, 1856) was a Hungarian guitarist and composer. The Bardenklänge (1847) are probably Mertz's most significant contribution to the guitar repertoire — a series of deceptively easy character pieces in the mould of Schumann. Tarantelle is no. 6 in this collection.
