Pedram Falsafi, Introduction and Dance
A piece for solo guitar inspired by original Iranian (Persian) music. Pedram Falsafi gives a comprehensive introduction to the styles used in this piece:
In composing Introduction & Dance, I have used the “Dastgah of Shur”, which comes second in the “Dastgah” system. It traditionally starts on D, with a very Phyrigian like feeling to it. In its second upper note it reaches E and it is then called “Dashti”
