[title]
[message]‘Suddenly’ is a waltz in C minor and C major. C minor is a difficult key on guitar, with few open strings and awkward fingerings. This piece starts with a very technical but highly melodic exposition, going through several modulations and melodic digressions. The ‘Suddenly’ of the title refers to the intoxicating valse brillante section that follows about two minutes into the piece. It’s in C major and a joy to play, and after the travails of the introductory passages it feels like the lights have come on. But then it all fades into memory as you finish with a variation on the first subject. This is certainly not a beginner’s piece.
