[title]
[message]For solo guitar.
This is a light, elegant, sophisticated piece in a style that owes something to Latin American guitar styles, ragtime, and mid-century popular music. It has a lively first melody followed by a more poignant slow central section, then a repeat of the first melody to a short coda. The harmony is constantly moving: it is a demanding piece and calls for some technique.
The composer explains the title "Radio" as follows: "I called it by that title because it seems to me to belong to a pre-digital age, and reminded me of something I might have heard as a kid slowly turning the tuning dial and picking up a nameless European radio station through the static."
