Simon Farintosh is an award-winning guitarist from the west coast of Canada. He earned his Bachelor of Music Degree at The University of Victoria where he studied with Dr Alexander Dunn, and completed a Master's Degree at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he was a student of Rene Izquierdo. Currently, he is enrolled in the Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Toronto. Simon's performances have won him top awards in competitions such as the Northwest Guitar Festival, the National Music Festival of Canada, and the Quebec Music Competition. He is a five-time recipient of the British Columbia Arts Council Award. While he spends most of his time teaching and performing, Simon is also an avid arranger and composer and often adapts piano repertoire, film music, electronic music, and jazz standards for the instrument.
