Torben Andersen, Den gale trold - Bents Lullaby
For guitar orchestra. (Five guitar parts + bass part)
Den gale trold (The Mad Troll)
"The Mad Troll" was inspired by the Norwegian folk tale "Three Billy Gruff" and in my musical version, it is about a happy little boy who walks around a forest lake. The theme begins relatively brightly and optimistically. A mad troll suddenly appears out of the dark forest and runs after the boy. The musical language becomes gloomy and dissonant. Fortunately, the boy is very fit, so he manages to escape the terrifying troll.
Bents Lullaby
When my firstborn grandson Bent came into the world, I did not doubt that I would compose a lullaby. Thoughts and feelings translated into music were my small contribution to giving him a personal gift. Initially, I wrote the piece for classical solo guitar and only later in an adapted version for a 6-part classical guitar orchestra.
