‘There’ll Be Better Days’ is a melodic ballad for solo guitar. Its first melody is in A major, with a second section in F major before returning to A major for the ending. It is essentially a song, and the title is a small fragment of lyric that would fit part of the melody. There are some tricky passages in the piece, but it is quite playable for a moderately good player. It makes much use of open strings that give a long sustained resonance and seem to give the whole piece a foundation.
