'Harbour' is an intensely melodic short piece in the form of a gentle lullaby or barcarolle. It takes advantage of the open harmonies of the dropped D tuning, and uses the full range of the fretboard. In some passages it evokes a rich cello-like sonority; in others, a gently tolling bell. Melodies echo, reprise, and subtly alter. It is pleasurable to play, producing deep vibrations in the body of the guitar. Although the tempo is slow, it requires some technical skill and would suit moderately to highly advanced players.
