Chris Dumigan, Dance Round The Maypole
for guitar sextet or guitar ensemble
This piece was written for and premiered at the Cambridge Guitar Weekend on October 1, 2017. Buckden Towers, St Neots – Cambridgeshire, UK, and afterwards taken up by the Cambridge Guitar Orchestra under the baton of Musical Director Valerie Hartzell who have continued to play a number of my pieces. It is very ‘English’ in style and not too difficult so that groups of players of modest ability should be able to cope with any of its complexities. I hope that I have written a very ‘upbeat‘ piece that many will enjoy playing!
