The main theme of Kaddish is the exaltation and sanctification of God's name. Ravel uses Aramaic text from a Jewish prayer book here. The song was first performed in June 1914 by Alvina Alvi, who ordered it - the composer himself sat at the piano.\u003cbr\u003eEach subsequent performance of this song makes a great impression on me. But the main impulse to work on the arrangement were wonderful concerts of two great artists: the outstanding South Korean soprano \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"fontstyle2\"\u003eSumi Jo \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"fontstyle0\"\u003eand the charismatic Polish guitarist \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"fontstyle2\"\u003eKrzysztof Meisinger\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"fontstyle0\"\u003e.
