Until the beginning of the war in Bosnia, he lived in the small central-Bosnian town of Prozor; but in 1992 he left Bosnia for Berlin, Germany.  There he furthered his classical guitar studies under Erich Heuer and Laurie Randolph, followed by a degree at the University of Arts in Berlin under the tutelage of Mariangeles Sanchez Benimeli.
