In 1981, he became a professor of guitar at the Music and Arts Institute of San Francisco in California. In 1992, at the request of the Spanish government, he founded the “Andrés Segovia Guitar Classroom” at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music in China.  Between 1982 and 2013, he was Head of the Guitar Department at the Music Conservatory of Granollers in Barcelona.
